After every *ship, the organizers sit back and review how the event has been to our participants.

We go through every feedback and listen to your wishes in order to make your next experience at *ship as memorable as possible. In the spirit of that, *ship decided to continue with the two-day model, happening on the 1st and 2nd of August 2019 in Maritime Centre Vellamo. Also, we will have some small changes promising to bring you a nice time at *ship this year.

Program

The event still consists of two parts: Mentor Program and Pitch Captain Competition. The first day will be dedicated to Mentor Program, in which startups will have the chance to meet with top mentors from Finland and around the world in 3 sub-programs: Master Classes, Mentor Meetups and Clinics. However, since we received a lot of positive feedback from last year’s participants, we decided to double the number of Master Classes to 10 sessions with 5 sessions per day!!! Isn’t it exciting?

Pitch Captain Competition

On the second day, startups will participate in the Pitch Captain Competition – 3 minutes that can change their lives! At first, all 50 teams will pitch their ideas, which are classified into 5 batches – Disrupt, Innovate, Entertain, Impact and Design. After that, the judges will pick the top 10 presentations to move on to the final round, which will be held in the Market Square of Kotka!

With such a large stage and pressure, will the startup teams have what it takes to keep the audience listening?

Let’s find out by joining us on the 2nd of August.

After the event

People come to *ship not only because of the 5000€ prize but also the possibility to expand their network. Every year we try to take our mentors and participants to different locations so that they can explore new aspects of Kotka, and this year is not an exception. Can you guess what will be the destination of 2019?
