Because *ship 2017 is going to be a big deal, we have really made a huge effort to get the best companions and experts in various fields from all around the world to take part in the Festival.

Mentors from around the world

*ship is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young entrepreneurs to get latest tips and add best practices to their tool set. Based on this notion, our unique Mentoring Program was created for startups to develop, improve and attract attention to their business. We are committed to improving the quality of *ship’s Mentoring Program even further, so that the Startups and the Mentors can make the most out of the event.

We are happy to announce that this year there will be 25 amazing world class mentors coming to Kotka. We are privileged to have mentors like Bruce Oreck and Neal Hartman from MIT.  Bruce Oreck was also a mentor in 2015, and his comeback is a great addition to *ship this year. Our mentors are coming from all around the world for only one reason: to support the young startups with new ideas and ultimately reach global success.

In the first day of the festival we have planned an intensive workshop and mentoring sessions with our experts. For deeper interaction, we ship the Startups and Mentors in the Mentor Cruise for lunch and networking. You can’t leave the boat in the middle of the sea that easily, so you have no other way but start talking with surrounding business-minded people and share your knowledge and consult other entrepreneurs.

Support from regional companies

We couldn’t make *ship happen without our sponsors. We are thrilled that Google decided to work with us for the second year in a row. Getting sponsored by Google says something about *ship itself.

In addition, as *ship is built by the enthusiastic student-run organisation Patteri Entrepreneur Society, we also have backup from South-Eastern University of Applied Sciences –  XAMK, which is the fifth biggest University of Applied Sciences in Finland. Equally importantly, it is also a great honor for us to work with City of Kotka, Cursor, The Tall Ship Race, OP Kymenlaakso and Karhu Voima Oy.
